Final Reflection
Going into this class I thought it was going to be boring and hard, but I was wrong. It was actually very interesting and helpful. I do not regret taking this class one bit. The first thing I learned was how the term statistics and probability were different and how they were similar. They are similar because statistical analysis often uses probability. They are different because statistical is the study of how to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret numerical information from the data. For example, if I wanted to find how many people like vanilla ice cream in high school. Then probability is the changes or likelihood of something happening. For example, if I wanted to find the probability of rolling a 6 on a dice. There were two valuable things I learned throughout the year that I think will be useful for my career. I did not think going into this class that I would be able to use this for my feature career, but I was wrong. The one valuable thing I have learned is how to calculate the probability of a particular equipment working. This tool is going to be very helpful for me in the feature. It will help me to determine if a specific equipment will help a person. There are going to be equipment that I am going to have to order for patients and I have to know the probability of it working. I am not going to want to order equipment if it hasn’t really helped people. Another thing that I thought was very valuable was learning the many different ways of sampling. Doing surveys is another great way to determine if something has worked. There are many different kinds of sampling methods for different kinds of situations and some ways work better than others depending on the situation. I thought the majority of the topics were easy, but I think chapter one was most difficult. I think it was the most difficult because it had the most definitions in it. I have never been good at memorizing definitions and keeping them all straight. I do believe it was a useful chapter because it helped with the following chapters. I thought this class was very helpful and I would recommend every student in high school to take it. Finding the likely hood of something happening or how to collect data can be used in many of careers.
